How to add a server
Already have a working server? Start with the listing steps below. If you are starting from zero, open the separate setup and development guide.
Have these details ready
Your engine must already be running and reachable from outside your network. You need the public login host, status port, hosting country, supported client and experience rate.
- Login address: for example
login.example.org. Enter the hostname withouthttps://, a path or a port. - Status port: use the port that answers your engine’s TSQP status queries. TCP 7171 is common, but your actual configuration may differ.
- Website: optional. You can list a server without a website after acknowledging the form’s warning.
An open port alone is not enough: OtservAds needs a valid game status response.
Sign in and read the listing rules
- Create an account or sign in.
- Verify your email when email verification is enabled.
- Click Add server. Read and accept the rules for this new listing.
- Use real player counts and accurate details. Only add a server you own or have permission to manage.
For Unique Players, use the engine-specific instructions. Choose your exact engine/version; Canary and some other engines already report it.
Fill in the server form
- Enter the server name, public login host and status port.
- Select its hosting country, client version, world type and experience multiplier.
- Add the working website if you have one. It must follow the connection domain’s website rules.
- Write a useful description: explain the map, progression, quests and custom systems. Select the correct engine and map style when known.
- If you have a real upcoming launch, set its date in your local time. It appears on your server page until that time is reached and in Upcoming servers while eligible.
Pass the check and publish
Submit the form. OtservAds checks the game status and any website you supplied before publishing. If it fails, read the error, correct the address or port and try again.
The engine is running, but the check fails
- Confirm the public hostname resolves to your server.
- Allow the actual status port through the host/provider firewall and any required router forwarding.
- Enable the TSQP status service in your engine. An HTTPS login webservice is separate from the game status port.
- Remove the listing-removal command from your MOTD if present. See the status-check help.
Check it and keep it accurate
Open your published page and check the domain, country, client and website. Monitoring normally checks status every 3 minutes. Update your listing when its connection settings or gameplay details change.
Use your control panel to manage the server and optional promotions. A featured placement, highlight, banner or launch countdown does not alter monitored player counts or ranking points.
